The Devil Runs His Mouth, But God Has the Last Word

I want to remind you today that the devil loves to run his mouth. He’s got a lot of names in the Bible. He’s called the adversary, the tempter, the serpent, the wicked one, a thief, a liar, and even the father of lies. None of those names are good, and none of his plans are either.
The devil is not creative. He’s just a copycat. He tries to make evil look good. He tries to trick people with fake light. But just because something looks shiny doesn’t mean it’s from God.

Now here’s something interesting. The Bible only shows Satan speaking three times. First, in the Garden of Eden when he lied to Eve. Second, in the book of Job when he questioned Job’s loyalty to God. And third, when he tried to tempt Jesus in the wilderness. Every time he opened his mouth, he had one goal and that is deception.

But every time Jesus answered, He used the Word of God. He didn’t argue or get angry. He just said, “It is written.” And that shut the devil down.

Friend, when the enemy starts talking, don’t just sit there and listen. Speak back with the Word of God. Fill your mouth and your heart with Scripture. That’s how you fight and win.
