God Is Speaking. Are You Listening?

"God Is Speaking. Are You Listening?"

An Inspirational Devotion From Pastor Brian

May 16, 2025

Have you ever asked, “Is that God speaking to me, or is it just me?” That is a question many of us face when we are trying to make a decision or seeking God’s direction. We want to hear His voice, but it can be hard to know if it is really Him.

God still speaks today. Sometimes it is not in a loud voice, but in a quiet whisper deep in our heart. That is why we must train ourselves to listen. In Psalm 46:10, the Bible says, “Be still and know that I am God.” Being still sounds simple, but it is one of the hardest things to do in our busy world.

There is always something trying to grab our attention. Work, school, phones, and worries can all distract us. But if we want to hear from God, we must set time aside. The early morning is a great time to listen. Before the noise of the day begins, God wants to speak to your heart.

It will take discipline. You may have to wake up earlier. You may need to turn off distractions. But when you seek God, He will meet you. You do not have to hear an audible voice to know God is speaking. His Spirit will guide you. His Word will speak to you. His peace will fill your heart.

If we truly want to hear God's voice, we must make time for Him. He is speaking. Are we listening?

Until next time, remember to take time out for God, because God always has time for you!

Sticky Statement:

Stillness is the key to hearing God's voice.

Questions To Think About

  1. What is one thing I can do today to make space to hear from God?
  2. When is the last time I truly slowed down to listen to Him?
  3. What distractions do I need to let go of in order to grow spiritually?

Prayer For Today:

"Lord, I want to hear Your voice. Help me to slow down and be still in Your presence. Teach me how to listen with my heart. Give me the strength to remove anything that gets in the way of my time with You. I want to grow closer to You every day. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen."
