Trusting God's Voice In Every Circumstance

Trusting God's Voice in Every Circumstance

An Inspirational Devotion From Pastor Brian

May 30, 2025

Have you ever wondered why certain things happen in your life? Whether good or bad, expected or surprising, every situation we face passes through the hands of God. Oswald Chambers once said, “Nothing touches our lives unless God allows it, and speaks through it.” That powerful truth is worth holding onto, especially when life feels uncertain.

In our walk with God, we often ask, “How can I know His will?” The answer starts by developing an ear to hear His voice. As we spend time in prayer, in His Word, God gives us spiritual sensitivity. He speaks through His Word, His Spirit, godly people, and through our circumstances.

Romans 8:28 reminds us, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” That includes every heartache, every disappointment, and every triumph. God does not waste anything. He uses every part of your journey to grow your faith and show His purpose.

Think about your own life. Have there been moments when a closed door protected you from something unseen? Or times when God brought clarity through what seemed like chaos? He is always working behind the scenes.

Revelation 3:20 also reminds us of this truth. Jesus stands at the door and knocks. He speaks. He leads. He invites us into deeper fellowship. If we will only listen, He will show us the way.

So today, ask God to give you an ear to hear. Be still. Pay attention. God is speaking through your circumstances, and He is working all things for your good.

Until next time, remember to take time out for God, because God always has time for you!

Sticky Statement:

Nothing touches your life unless God allows it, and He will speak through it.

Questions To Think About

  1. What is God showing me through the situation I am facing today?
  2. Am I seeking God's voice, or just relief from my circumstances?
  3. How has God spoken to me in the past through hardship?

Prayer For Today:

"Father, I thank You that You are always speaking. Even when life feels uncertain, I know You are in control. Help me to trust that every situation I face is in Your hands. Give me ears to hear what You are saying, and a heart to follow Your direction. Teach me to listen for Your still small voice. In Jesus’ name, amen."
